Once Upon the Wind

The Opera Theatre of Yale College cordially invites you to a virtual production of Theo Popov and Kate Light’s contemporary opera Once Upon the Wind. The audio recording is accompanied by a series of descriptive letters sent to each audience member which set the virtual stage for the opera. Through this unique production format, we aim to challenge conventional notions of how opera is presented by embedding the audience experience in the space of your home and letters you hold in your hands. Through the opera’s probing themes of loss and living through grief, we hope to share an experience with our audience that promotes empathy and celebrates life during these difficult times.
